Vonage Call Forwarding Unable to cancel call forwarding

Problem: cancellation was not working. And we could not figure this out till we called the Vonage Service.

Situation: Some background first, everyday the at the end of the day before the business is closed we forward the calls to the answering service so the answering service can take the messages from patients who need urgent care and the doctor can be paged.

At the beginning of the next day the call forwarding needs to be cancelled. But today the cancellation was not working. And we could not figure this out till we called the Vonage Service.

Root Cause: The credit card expired and the new card was issued. The Vonage Service could not get their monthly service fee automatically so they decided to put hold on some features i.e. Call Forwarding.

Solution: The payment was made and the call forwarding and cancellation started working again.

We also have something called Simluring facility, this helps us in getting the calls ring on multiple phones and the first phone that is picked up cancels the rest of the calls. This way we can set it to ring for office as well as the answering service after 20 seconds. So if the office is very busy the answering service can pick the call up.
